ON YOUR BIKE FOR CHARITY!
ON YOUR BIKE!
The staff of One Medicare head office used pedal power to raise money for charity on 9 February 2010 - with the team taking part in a 12 hour continuous exercise bike ride for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Two exercise bikes were set up in the staff room at the head office and the staff took it in turns to complete a stint on the bike and in total cycled for 12 hours.
The Leeds based primary care service provider operates GP-led health centres in Derby, NE Lincolnshire and Sheffield as well as two NHS Doctors surgeries based in Leeds, one of which is in The Light in the city centre. Staff at the Quayside Open Access Centre in NE Lincolnshire will also complete their own 12 hour bike ride later this month in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Rachel Beverley-Stevenson, Chief Executive, said: "I am very proud of the staff for putting in the effort to organise this event and to everyone who took part. As a company we have so far raised over £750 for cancer charities which is a great achievement. Most people in the office have been touched one way or another by cancer so it's something we all feel passionate about."
Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical, financial and medical support to those suffering with, and families affected by, cancer.
