About Us | One Medicare

One Medicare is a primary care service provider, which is patient and GP focused and delivers high quality care along with a wide variety of services tailored to patient needs at each of their surgeries. The One Medicare board and management team have substantial experience of managing major public and private organisations and of bringing first class clinical services and skills mix to primary care.

One Medicare is jointly owned by health care developer One Medical, established in September 2004 to develop primary care premises and facilities, and FMC Health Solutions Ltd, a local primary care services provider. FMC Health Solutions Ltd is in turn owned by the partners and practice manager of Ferrybridge Medical Centre. FMC Health Solutions Limited was successful in bidding for an ailing practice in Normanton, West Yorkshire with 3000 patients which it has been operating as an APMS practice since January 2006 and successfully turned around.

Together, the companies are committed to responding to the Government's drive to move services and care closer to the patient as outlined in the 2006 White Paper - Our health, our care, our say: a new direction for community services through offering a 'one stop shop' for primary care needs.
